The Oscars of the watch industry, Geneva recently hosted the prestigious 2023 edition of their Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG). The glittering event, showcasing the crème de la crème of timepieces, concluded with the announcement of the coveted Aiguille d’Or, the event’s highest accolade. Significantly, this year’s GPHG not only celebrated horological excellence but also marked the end of an era for a notable brand’s CEO.

While the GPHG shines a spotlight on the finest in Swiss watchmaking, it’s not without its gaps. Major players like Rolex and several from the Swatch Group and Richemont were notably absent. Yet, despite these absences, the GPHG stands as a unique gathering that annually unites diverse facets of the industry – from intricate clocks and exquisite jewelry to innovative watches.

Taking home the night’s most prestigious title, the “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix, awarded for the year’s most exceptional timepiece,  was the Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Ultra-Complication Universelle RD#4.

Below, see the complete list of winners crowned at the 2023 GPHG, unveiling the timepieces that ticked all the right boxes in this grand horological celebration.
