Al Pacino is known for many appearances; The Godfather, Scarface and even the recent Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Off the back of his second 2019 film The Irishman, set to be release on November 27, the 79-year-old is set to move away from the film scene for television. Until now, the celebrated actor hasn’t appeared in television however that is about to change. Announced in January of this year, we now have a short teaser for his forthcoming project, Hunters.
Headed by Amazon Prime and executively produced by Oscar-winner Jordan Peele, the upcoming series is set in a 1970’s New York. According to the synopsis: “the Hunters, as they’re known, have discovered that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S. The eclectic team of Hunters will set out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans.”
Also starring Jerrika Hinton, Josh Radnor, Kate Mulvany, Tiffany Boone, Greg Austin, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Dylan Baker and Lena Olin, Pacino will play the mentor to the series lead, Logan Lerman. The teaser is only a mere 15 seconds however it does provide a gauge to the intensity of the new television series.
