With new collaborations, fresh music and a hot list of films ready to drop, 2019 has begun with a bang and speaking of that bang, the latest and potentially most wild action film of the year has almost arrived. Late last year, we got a taste of Triple Frontier and now ahead of its release into cinemas and onto Netflix, the final trailer has dropped courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel.

Starring Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund and Pedro Pascal, former American soldiers band together to take down a South American drug lord. According to the official synopsis:

“A group of former Special Forces operatives (Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund, and Pedro Pascal) reunite to plan a heist in a sparsely populated multi-border zone of South America. For the first time in their prestigious careers, these unsung heroes undertake this dangerous mission for self instead of country. But when events take an unexpected turn and threaten to spiral out of control, their skills, their loyalties, and their morals are pushed to a breaking point in an epic battle for survival. Directed by Academy Award® nominee J.C. Chandor (Margin Call, All Is Lost, A Most Violent Year) and co-written by Chandor and Academy Award® winner Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty).”

Set to include plenty of action and thrill-seeking adventure, this is Affleck’s latest film after he announced he would hang up his Batman coat, last month. For the actor, the incoming film is much more than a mere ‘shoot-em-up’ story.

“We’ve increasingly placed more and more of the burden to do the fighting and defending of our country on this very narrow band of people, the Special Forces who do all the combat… To meet these guys and get the chance to train with them was a phenomenal honour,” Affleck told Kimmel.

Set to drop into selected theatres from March 6, the rest of the world can witness the plot first-hand on Netflix from March 13. From the brains behind Wonder Woman and The Dark Knight trilogy, this expected to be just as epic. Watch the final trailer below.
