sneakers

New Nike, new adidas, new Dior – this month has seen some seriously good footwear dropping from some of our favourite brands and some new styles from old faithfuls like Puma.

The last few months, the sneaker sector has undergone a state of self-questioning. Courtesy of a Succession-led wave of quiet luxury pieces declaring that branding and bold colours et cetera are over in favour of subdued and subtle design, attention has been drawn back to classic silhouettes like adidas Sambas.

So is it really out with the Triple S and in with the Sambas? Of course not. The dad sneaker is here to stay, at least for the foreseeable future. Anyone who has spent a day rushed off their feet in a pair of New Balance 574s will tell you that they’re not giving up what are probably the most comfortable footwear they’ve ever owned in a rush.

But some of the latest sneaker arrivals are an attempt to blend the two outlooks: classic styles reworked in bright colours or vice versa, chunky old boys now in minimal palettes.

Here are six of our favourite sneakers to get your hands on, and feet in, this July.
