Cardi B can do no wrong. Earlier this week, the New York-based rapper triumphed at the prestigious Grammy Awards, winning Best Rap Album for Invasion of Privacy. Following backlash surrounding her win on Instagram on Sunday night, the artist deactivated her account, but just days later and she is back in the best way possible.

Emerging from “retirement” on Wednesday, Cardi revealed a new single with Bruno Mars. “Ok so I’m back from retirement to announce I have a brand new song coming out Friday at midnight with @brunomars. # twogrammywinningartist”, her caption read.

Rumoured to be titled, ‘Please Me’, the track will supposedly release at about 4pm in Australia (or midnight in the US). The announcement comes with perfect timing following her recent success, despite criticism as she was pinned up against music rival Nicki Minaj.

Lady Gaga later defended the 26-year-old on Twitter: “It is so hard to be a woman in this industry. What it takes, how hard we work through the disrespectful challenges, just to make art. I love you Cardi. You deserve your awards. Let’s celebrate her fight. Lift her up & honor her. She is brave.”

Bruno Mars and Cardi B have teamed up in the past, with their collaborative remix on song ‘Finesse’ hitting the charts in January, 2018.
