New film The Batman is shifting into form.

In January, Ben Affleck announced his retirement from the iconic role of Bruce Wayne and Batman. Hanging up the mask and cape, it made way for fresh face Robert Pattinson to take on the character and now, the rest of the cast is here. While Jonah Hill was rumoured to play a villain within the film, it was announced last month that Paul Dano signed to play The Riddler. Now, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis and Matthew McConaughey will join the Warner Bros. production.

Andy Serkis known for his work in several Star Wars films is set to play the role of Bruce Wayne’s trusted butler Alfred Pennyworth. Rounding out the group of villains Batman will face in the comic book iteration, Collin Farrell will reimagine Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot better known as Penguin while McConaughey will play Gotham City District Attorney, Harvey Dent. Rumours suggest Dent will fall into crime in the sequel.

Directed by Matt Reeves, best known for his work on the last two sequels of The Planet of the Apes, filming is expected to commence shortly and is slated to release in June, 2021. Stay tuned for further details.
