Back in July of this year, Donald Glover’s alter-ego Childish Gambino dropped a line of fresh new tracks. Following up on “This is America”, the rapper channelled more chill vibes for the easy listening tracks. After the launch, Gambino has finally released the music video for “Feels Like Summer”.
Different to his dance-fuelled video for “This is America”, he has looked to animation, following the rapper through a hip-hop inspired neighbourhood. As Gambino casually walks down the street, the video shows some of the biggest names in hip-hop in various scenes. Travis Scott can be seen playing blocks with Nikki Minaj, Future stealing Drake’s bike, and Migos playing basketball. Other features include 21 Savage, Metro, Will Smith and Kanye West.
The video was created and directed in collaboration with Ivan Dixon and Greg Sharp, with illustrations by the talented Justin Richburg. Glover plans to step away from the Gambino persona after touring in Autumn.
