After an emotional and thrilling performance in ABC’s Lost, actor Dominic Monaghan will reunite with JJ Abrams for a new role. Set to star in the final Star Wars film, Episode IX, Monaghan will help wrap up the multi-billion dollar franchise, according to Deadline.

“The galaxy far far away has had almost as much influence as the one I live in, so I am delighted to be involved,” Monaghan told the publication. It is still not confirmed what role the actor will play, but he took to Instagram to tease production of the film.

Vocal about his interests to make an appearance in the Star Wars films, Abrams finally made Monaghan’s dream a reality, as he built his cast of ‘unknowns’. The actor will join the likes of Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac, along with newcomers including Naomi Ackie, Logan actor Richard E. Grant and Keri Russell. Originals from the franchise will also include Mark Hamill and Anthony Daniels.

Dominic Monaghan is best known for his role as Charlie Pace on JJ Abrams’ Lost, as well as Hobbit Merry in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy. Stay tuned for updates.
