If anyone hasn’t already noticed, we’re only in March of 2020 and hysteria has well and truly set in. Thus far, we’ve experienced fire, floods and pandemic-scale disease and while much of the world braces for economic and social impact, our dear friends at Coachella are beefing with Elon Musk. What a time to be alive.

This week, Coachella announced the postponement of its annual music festival until October. Overall, the response from fans and performers was positive – except for Elon Musk. Taking to Twitter, Musk believed the event should continue its postponement indefinitely.

“Coachella should postpone itself until it stops sucking,” the billionaire wrote in a series of tweets yesterday. He continued with his crusade saying, “Too much corporate sponsorship killed the vibe […] Was good maybe 5 or 6 years ago when you could wonder around & find great unknown bands.”

Wow.

With a sense of humour, the event responded to the CEO’s unprovoked comment, tweeting “lol”, followed by Jaden Smith performing at Coachella on top of a Tesla car, suspended in the air. A PR move we suspect. Musk quickly responded and sheepishly said, “Ok fine, that was good haha.”

History has been made – Musk was officially shut down on Twitter.
