Ever since December 2017, there has been speculations over the future of 21st Century Fox, as The Walt Disney Company moved to acquire over $70 billion in stock. After the approval of the deal in late July, there has been talks around the plans for both companies, including the changes to production schedules and the future of major franchises.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, along with downsizing non-family friendly series like X-Men, Avatar and Deadpool, Disney is looking to create adaptions of popular television cartoons including Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers and The Simpsons.

Fox Studios is believed to be already developing a movie for Bob’s Burgers, as well as a sequel to The Simpons 2007 movie, but the next move will see Family Guy produced into a live-action film, mixing cartoons with real-life characters. Sources close to the projects confirm this according to the report, so only time will tell whether this will indeed move forward.

In the meantime, it is said that Disney will release all Fox films that are complete or in production at the time of the acquisition.
