After George and Amal Clooney vowed to send 3,000 Syrian children to school, the power couple and The Clooney Foundation for Justice will donate $100,000 to families and children caught up in the immigration crisis. After immense pressure from some of the world’s most powerful voices on Trump’s immigration policy, the Clooney couple are doing their part.

In a statement to People, the couple explained their influence to act.

“At some point in the future our children will ask us: ‘Is it true, did our country really take babies from their parents and put them in detention centres?’ And when we answer yes, they’ll ask us what we did about it. What we said. Where we stood. We can’t change this administration’s policy but we can help defend the victims of it.”

The sizeable donation to the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights will come from their foundation that has already assisted on special causes including ending gun violence in the US as well as providing legal assistance. To look into their work visit here.
