Hermès, H08, watch

Winter just became fresher and more bearable courtesy of four new colours added to the Hermès H08 lineup.

Perfect for the watch lover who enjoys to make something of a statement with their wrist accessory of choice, bold shades of yellow, green, blue and orange are now part of the H08 pillar. These new strap colours are mirrored in the accents across the watch face, including a varnish on the second hand, minute track and oh subtle ring of colour around the watch glass seal.

It’s not just a new pop of colour. Where the OG watches that were the launch consisted of a titanium case, the four new H08 are crafted with a new lightweight composite case of braided glass fibre composite that has been coated with aluminium and slate powder. This gives the face a natural silvery tone that balances nicely against the chosen colours. The bezel and crown are made from black ceramic and a black DLC-treated titanium folding clasp secures the woven strap.

The Hermès philosophy of creating items that are functionally elegant yet simple; timeless yet with an eye to modern sensibilities and always containing a sense of lightness sums up the DNA of the H08. First launched back in 2021, it created a bridge between two aesthetics: the casual and practical with more elevated style codes.

It was, says creative director of Hermès Horologer Philippe Delhotal, a watch designed for the multifaceted day to day life of the modern man. A square that wasn’t a square, yet wasn’t yet a circle either, but a hybrid layering of both, the H08 immediately struck a chord with both men (and women!) who wanted an eye-catching watch that still promised easy wearing.

Underneath the hood is the same Hermès manufacture H1837 movement, for those who appreciated the engineering, and the familiar 39mm x 39mm case remains the same.
