28 years on after the original release of family favourite Home Alone, it is still a go-to amongst holiday makers and while it remains an iconic tradition, Google thought they’d mix things up a bit. Recruiting the then child-star Macaulay Culkin, the team behind Google Assistant have rebooted the classic – and its about time.
Promoting the latest from the Home Google Assistant, the partnership recreated some of the most memorable scenes from the original film, all hands free of course. With almost an exact replica of the sets found in Home Alone, the ad shows the 38 year-old actor bed jumping, his shower time, and dinner before setting Operation Kevin into motion.
Revealing how far we’ve come with modern technology, this time, Culkin is well prepared with a simple “Hey, Google.” And if we’re being completely honest we’ve been waiting for a Home Alone reboot for a long time now. Revisit your childhood and tune-in below.
