As August draws to a close, the arrival of a new month also means new content on Netflix. If you’re like us and feel that Netflix has dropped the ball lately, its latest releases are a sure redemption, with a line of new original series from the streaming service as well as licensed film favourites.

Even though the weather tends to brighten up for the incoming Spring season, we have the perfect excuse to binge in bed for a little while longer.

Television highlights for September is set to include a second season for American Vandal (14/9), the second season for Marvel’s Iron Fist (7/9), and the fifth season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. One of the most anticipated releases however comes down to Maniac, starring Jonah Hill and Emma Stone. Set to drop on the 21st, the limited series will be based on two strangers (played by Emma Stone and Jonah Hill) who find themselves caught up in a mind-bending pharmaceutical trial gone wrong.

In terms of movies you’ll expect to see on the small-screen, gear up for fan favourites including The Mummy franchise, The Amazing-Spiderman 2 and Star Trek. The blockbuster film Water for Elephants will see its premiere on Netflix for the first time, as well as Justice League, The Disaster Artist and Watchmen. Watchmen presents an alternate version of 1985 where superheroes are real and the world is on the verge of collapse.
