Netflix Originals has seen the creation of some of our favourite television shows and while they have stemmed some great weekend binge sessions, it seems that the streaming service is doing a seasonal clean. While it continues to impress following its October releases – over the past two years, it has announced the cancellation of at least 24 shows.

Suspected to be apart of an ongoing strategy, the ruthless culling is making way for new and improved films and televisions series, making Netflix a fresh contender against new services from Amazon and Disney. Some TV shows to be axed are well overdue, but some will be sorely missed. Considered two of Netflix’s flagship series, both House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black will be farewelled after the release of their newest seasons – but its not because they’re bad shows, but because their time has unfortunately passed. Iron Fist has also been cancelled after two seasons.
