Coachella Weekend 1 has kicked off and wound down in spectacular fashion. Amidst toilet fires, influencers and endless festival style – tassels and crochet anyone? – once again, music reigned strong. Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande brought fans to the festival in droves and with a full-on line up spanning across three days, its hard not to feel a little FOMO. Nevertheless we take it as an excellent chance to find some fresh new sounds.

After a sweep through the packed schedule, ICON’s Spotify playlist is teeming with new tracks and upcoming artists. While the likes of Dennis Lloyd are quickly breaking through the pop sphere, Still Woozy and RAT BOY have us in a trance.

still woozy

Relatively new on the music scene, newly established Still Woozy is the one-man production of Sven Gamsky hailing from Oakland, California. Combining acoustic and electronic elements, Still Woozy is the easy listening artist we’ve all been searching for and his ‘Goodie Bag’ track has us zoning out.

RAT BOY

Faced by English musician Jordan Cardy, the 23-year-old is quickly making a name for himself as an artist to watch. Best known for his alternative take on the rock genre, his sounds are exactly what you’d expect to hear in an underground bar somewhere in London.

anna lunoe

In a much faster change of pace, Anna Lunoe is the Australian DJ making it big overseas. Appearing at Coachella this year, her unique mixes and electronic-heavy sounds have captured the attention of followers like Virgil Abloh and has had her travel the world to festivals like Lollapalooza, Ultra, TomorrowWorld and Hard Summer. She now also hosts a weekly show on Apple Music’s Beats1 Radio.

little simz

Making her music debut back in 2014, Little Simz has refined her sound to include a unique infusion of RnB, Rap, Electronics and even cultural cues in her tracks. Unlike some rap artists, the Londoner’s music is smooth and easy listening and with a distinctive style to match, we’re obsessed.

dennis lloyd

As a long-time fan of Dennis Lloyd, I was excited to see his name on the lineup. As an Israeli artist, the singer, songwriter and producer moved to Bangkok at 21-years-of-age to concentrate on his music. It has obviously paid off because the breakout artist has now garnered the attention of Forbes and Billboard for his latest releases.
