Everything
If you thought the cozy boy autumn era was going anywhere anytime soon then think again because if Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal have their way, it’s hear to stay in all its fuzzy glory.
Last week, Evans appeared at a red carpet event for his new film Ghosted, alongside co-star Ana De Armas, in a very comfortable looking cable knit top and green trousers. The cream knit button up shirt by British label King and Tuckfield hit the right notes of preppy style and casual luxury.
This was Evans’ second home run in the knitwear department and just the latest chapter in an ongoing narrative that confirms men’s fashion is taking a softer approach. No more stiff blazers, and hello relaxed, unstructured silhouettes.

Perhaps the best signifier of this whole trend is the revival of that old school menswear staple, the cardigan. Spotted on everyone from Black Panther and Creed star Michael B. Jordan to Travis Scott who was spotted in a vintage Kapital anti-war cardigan.
But perhaps the biggest advocate comes from The Mandalorian star and beloved “daddy” of the internet Pedro Pascal. Pascal has made it very clear his personal style leans towards then wooly comforts of knitwear. A particular favourite of his is the old school cardigans. Pascal has turned the uniform of English professors into a versatile staple for both on and off duty wardrobe needs.

Cropped and ribbed, glittery and long or minimal and functional – there’s a cardigan for every one of Pascal’s moods, it seems. He’s the OG Cardi B(oy).
The cardigan’s return as prime weapon in the arsenal of menswear comes from a two-pronged attack. The ’90s nostalgia, whose grunge uniform was best delivered by Nirvana Kurt Cobain and his rotating run of cardigans. And grunge’s polar opposite twin from the same era, the adherents of prep fashion.
But what makes this comeback exciting is the scope in which the cardigan is being reinterpreted. Yes there’s still that prep element, but designers are playing with proportions and fabrication to turn old faithful into something new surprising.

So expressive has this cuddly little bugger become that it was arguably the break-out character in Netflix’s hit Beef with Joseph Lee, who plays George the well-meaning but little bit vanilla husband of Ali Wong, projecting his moods via an array of knits.
