The fashion rumour mill is churning and the subject in question is Raf Simons. In late-December of 2018, it was announced that the celebrated designer would be leaving the helm of Calvin Klein and its luxury counterpart, 205W39NYC, less than two years since his appointment to the American brand. Steering away from high fashion and runway shows, “creative difference” forced the bright creative to focus on his namesake brand. According to the internet however, that could all change as it is suspected Simons will make a return to the luxury realm.

In a now-deleted tweet, Wall Street fashion editor and columnist Jacob Gallagher said, “Getting word that Raf Simons is going to Prada. No other details.”

Naturally, the simple comment has stirred conversations and while it should be taken with a grain of salt the comment could have weight to it. The Belgian designer has a relationship with Miuccia Prada and the Prada Group which includes being appointed as creative director of German label Jil Sander in 2005. After five years, Simons left to replace the recently fired John Galliano at Dior in 2012. He resigned in 2015 before eventually taking up the role at Calvin Klein.

The Prada Group has made no comments yet to the validity of the online comment.
