There is something wonderfully entertaining about the internet. Not referring to the all-night Netflix bingeing and aside from the likes of Diet Prada calling out copy cats on Instagram, the next best thing would have to be the long-time feud between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. But all good things must come to an end (or so we thought), when the two called an official truce on social media.

“Official truce! I’m going to make an awesome ad for Aviation Gin. And, look forward to seeing what @Vancityreynolds comes up with in return”, Jackman’s caption read.

A week later, the pair reconvened for a new video, promoting Reynolds’ Gin and Jackman’s coffee – and lets just say, the truce is off.

Initially sparked in 2015, the last three years has seen both actors poke fun at each the across Twitter, Instagram and even weaved into films, and while it might just be good PR, its provided plenty of humour for fans. But how did this social media war begin? Scroll below for the pinnacle moments.

November, 2015

In November, 2015, Reynolds filmed an Instagram video while working on Deadpool, mocking Jackman and his accent (missed the mark there).

Several months later and Reynolds thought he’d give it another go. Promoting his new film, the Canadian made a tribute for Australia Day, but provided more so an opportunity to poke fun at Jackman a little more. “You gave us Wolverine, and for that, I can’t forgive ya.”

Weeks later and the pair happened to end up in the same room – and so, the banter continued on Twitter.

Just days later, Deadpool was released in cinemas with a clear reference to Hugh Jackman.

In the same month, Reynolds crashed a Junket for Jackman’s new film I Crashed the Eddie Eagle.

The next recount came from Jackman, honouring the Canadian actor before he received his Hollywood Walk of Fame star. “@VanCityReynolds asked me to post this 100% real video by him on being honoured with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame today,” Jackman wrote.

And then this cheap shot…

OCTOBER, 2018

The casual banter continued through out 2017 and in 2018. Do we suspect a bromance coming along?

december, 2018

Getting festive with the spirit of Christmas, one of Jackman’s last moves was pranking Reynolds with the help of Jake Gyllenhaal. That is, until Jackman called the Deadpool “a f**king a**shole” on the internet.
