Joining the likes of fellow hip-hop artists and legendary musicians, Snoop Dogg was followed by a huge crowd of fans this week to the Hollywood Walk of Fame where he finally received a star in recognition of his career. Along with Pharrell Williams, Dr. Dre, Quincy Jones, and Jimmy Kimmel, the artist celebrated 26 years in the game in true Snoop Dogg style.

Beginning his career in 1992, Snoop Dogg has become an icon, and after selling over 23 million albums in the United States alone and 35 million abroad, his success has also continued elsewhere. After appearing in a slew of films over the past two decades, 2018 has been a particularly big year after celebrating 30 years of Bally and even releasing his own epic cookbook. Now, while receiving his Walk of Fame star he will go down in history after making the greatest speech ever.

Joining 2,650 other stars on the famous walk, the 47-year-old musician made an acceptance speech, and while he did the standard act to thank the most important people in his life, he took the opportunity to thanks himself – because #selflove.

“I want to thank me for believing in me, I want to thank me for doing all this hard work. I wanna thank me for having no days off. I wanna thank me for never quitting. I wanna thank me for always being a giver and trying to give more than I receive. I wanna thank me for trying to do more right than wrong. I wanna thank me for being me at all times, Snoop Dogg you a bad motherf**ker,” he announced.

Shortly after the rapper thanked “G.O.D”.

Watch the full ceremony below. I think we can all take a leaf from this artists book.
