In the least surprising news of all time, the British Olympic team will be the sharpest athletes in Tokyo, with Ben Sherman confirming they will fit Team GB at Tokyo 2021.

As an official supporter of Team GB, Ben Sherman is outfitting Team GB athletes and delegates for the Tokyo Olympic Games opening and ceremony uniforms.

Ben Sherman is an iconic British brand. The link-up was confirmed via a capsule collection starring some of Team GB Olympic medal hopefuls and rising stars, including track and field athlete Morgan Lake, taekwondo athlete Lutalo Muhammad diver Jack Laugher, rugby player Philip Burgess.

The campaign was snapped by fashion photographer RANKIN and features sustainable organic cotton polo shirts, and organic graphic t-shirts, striped casual shirt, zip through bomber jacket, and Harrington jacket, for men and women. Proper British fit.

The reveal of the Team GB x Ben Sherman collab is the latest in a long line of Olympic team uniforms unveiled in the lead up to Tokyo. Earlier this month, Australia’s 2020 Olympic Games uniforms were revealed. Designed by Sportscraft, the uniforms are inspired by Tokyo’s famous Shibuya Crossing.

“The design process was inspired by the electric lights, vibrant colours and bustling atmosphere synonymous with Tokyo,” a statement read. Meanwhile, the US Olympic team will arrive in Japan dripping in head to toe Ralph Lauren.

The relationship between Ralph Lauren and Team USA stretched back to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games; however, this year’s fit has been widely criticised. The all-white outfit has been labelled ‘yacht club aesthetic’ and out of touch.

Team GB will arrive in Tokyo with an edge compared to the Team AUS, and Team USA looks.

“It’s a real honour to be tasked with designing Ben Sherman lifestyle collections for Team GB,” said Ben Sherman Creative Director Mark Williams.

“We tapped into the brand’s heritage, authenticity and aesthetic excellence to inspire the same athletes who inspire us with their dedication and sportsmanship. The design elements hold true to the spirit of the Olympics and Great Britain. This has been a long time coming, and it’s exciting to share the retail capsule collection finally.”
