First released during the NFL Thanksgiving primetime game, Disney has officially unveiled the first teaser trailer to the epic remake of “The Lion King”. Recreating the 1994 film icon, the photo-realistic animation is set to follow the same plot for a modern era and feature Donald Glover, Beyoncé, James Earl Jones and Seth Rogen.
Posted online just hours ago, the teaser trailer reveals remakes of memorable scenes including a young Simba being raised up over the rocks to the animals as well as Mufasa’s heart-stopping roar, played over the “Circle of Life”. With Elton John reportedly set to return, reworking some of the his original compositions, Hans Zimmer will join him to score the film.
The question begs to ask however, will the modern revisit live up to the hype?
Disney’s The Lion King is scheduled to drop in cinemas from July 19, 2019. Watch the teaser trailer below.
