Just when Birkenstock figured they had the sandal market on lock, Louis Vuitton has entered the contest with their brand new Louis Vuitton Trainer Mule.
Designed by none other than Virgil Abloh, the LV Trainer mule is a serious sandal, combining the best bits of the Birkenstock but topping it off with a flashy finish.
Available in two different colourways, “Blue” and “Silver,” the LV Trainer Mule continues many of Virgil Abloh’s popular LV Trainer Sneaker elements. The cult LV Trainer sneaker-inspired the lightweight, micro and rubber outsole with an orange rubber insert.
The sandal boasts two adjustable straps constructed of suede or leather accented by metallic-tone engraved buckles, LV initials and Louis Vuitton script – to make sure everyone knows you’re rocking that Louis V on your feet.
Handmade in Italy, each sandal includes an anatomic insole teamed up with a micro midsole and rubber outsole.
The LV Trainer mule is a relaxed style in metallic silver leather. It features two adjustable straps with Louis Vuitton-engraved, silver-tone buckles and a comfortable anatomic insole. Calf suede and leather adorn the sandal’s upper, ensuring the LV Trainer mule is durable and soft: the leats you could expect from a pricey sandal.
Ah yes, the cost: priced at AUD 1,480 and AUD 1,500, respectively, the “Blue” and “Silver” LV Trainer Mule are available online and at Louis Vuitton locations.
