Big day, lot’s on and by that we mean the Australian debut of much-anticipated capsule collection between French Maison Louis Vuitton and Tyler the Creator. This collaboration introduces Tyler the Creator’s distinctive touch to the Louis Vuitton Spring 2024 collection, which is part of Pharrell William’s vision for the LVERS community, emphasising collaboration and craftsmanship.
The collection includes a variety of items, ranging from apparel and accessories to unique lifestyle products. Notably, it features Tyler’s reinterpretation of the Louis Vuitton monogram, termed “the Craggy Monogram,” which is applied across several pieces such as a down jacket, a windbreaker, and a denim set. This new monogram integrates playful elements like a daisy flower and a terrier dog, reflecting Tyler’s personal style and interests.
Another significant aspect of the collection is the Damier Golf, which integrates a special colour variation of the iconic Damier pattern into golf-inspired apparel, demonstrating versatility in wearability both on and off the golf course.
The collection extends beyond clothing, with Tyler introducing unconventional items like a chess board and dog-shaped bags. Footwear is also a key part of the offering, with designs such as the LV Dandy loafer and the LV Waves derby boot featuring embossed Monogram nubuck and unique design details.
Tyler, the Creator has had previous engagements with the French house, notably contributing to the soundtrack for Virgil Abloh’s final collection in 2022. This collaboration allows Tyler to further express his creative vision within the luxury fashion context.
Tyler emphasised the personal significance of the collection, noting his involvement in the design process and his aim to create pieces that reflect his everyday wear preferences. The collaboration is presented as an extension of both Tyler’s and Louis Vuitton’s aesthetic realms, offering a collection that blends luxury with personal expression.
