Tim Burton is best known for his live action remakes of classics such as “Alice in Wonderland”, and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, and following his sequel of “Alice Through the Looking Glass” in 2016, the director has returned for a new Disney film. Adapting the classic 1941 tale of “Dumbo”, the creative has once again applied his futuristic flair and dark twist.

Releasing the official trailer this week, the modern revisit will see A-listers Colin Farrell, Michael Keto, Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Finley Hobbins and Nico Parker star in the fresh adaption. Expanding on the storyline, the film will explore and delve into the children’s story.

According to the synopsis: “A young elephant, whose oversized ears enable him to fly, helps save a struggling circus, but when the circus plans a new venture, Dumbo and his friends discover dark secrets beneath its shiny veneer.”

Black-lash has begun to surface however, with many people questioning if the remake is appropriate when animal cruelty is a highlighted issue in 2018.

The film will drop in theatres on March 29, 2019. Watch the trailer below for a first look at the film.
