We’re calling it: Timothée Chalamet is our style muse.

Today marked the next ceremony on the awards season trail, and perhaps our favourite sport this month has been predicting what Timothée Chalamet will wear. While the Screen Actor Guild Awards saw the Beautiful Boy star step out in leather pants and  a polka-dot shirt, his ‘risk-taking’ look was left rather lacklustre after past glitter harnesses and designer sneakers. But for the occasion of the 2019 BAFTA’s, social media has once again ignited over his next sartorial manoeuvre.

Pleasing his fanbase and editors across the world, Chalamet opted for a printed shirt and jacket combo, courtesy of French designer Haider Ackermann. And when you thought he couldn’t do anymore, Chalamet sported red racing checks up the side of his pants. A style choice that could have ultimately ended in disaster for any other celebrity, the 23-year-old actor left the tie at home and finished off his look with patent combat boots. Whether it be his age or his relaxed persona, the internet is in resounding agreement over his ability to pull off a bold print.

Capturing the attention of Twitter fans, one user said, “Timothée Chalamet is like the only one who could pull off that suit wow”, while another agreeing saying, “On anyone else that suit would look like a dalmatian with chickenpox. But it’s Timothée Chalamet.” And right they were.

With the Academy Awards drawing near, bets are on for his red carpet finale. And if the BAFTA’s is anything to go by – or the past awards season for that matter – the world will be closely watching for the latest elegant statement.
