In just a few years since they started working together, Tommy Hilfiger and Lewis Hamilton have managed to develop a distinctive handwriting style – one which seamlessly blends the former’s classic, American cool DNA with the latter’s contemporary, urban streetwear aesthetic. The result? A highly wearable collection of modern, urban apparel which retains a nostalgic nod to the Americana influence of the brand’s golden era.
Not content with simply producing a stylish streetwear collection, the American designer and Formula One champion have taken on another challenge: to make said collection as sustainable as possible, with the mission statement to create a collection that “Wastes Nothing and Welcomes All” by incorporating 100 percent recycled denim, organic cotton and post-consumer recycled materials into almost 80 percent of the collection.

“Evolving as a designer and collaborator through the TommyXLewis collections has been such an incredible journey,” says Lewis Hamilton. “Our new collection embodies everything we stand for – from authentic self-expression to inclusivity and sustainability… We could not be prouder of what we have created.”
Following on from the theme of welcoming all, each piece is designed to be gender-neutral, stemming from the belief that great style erases all boundaries in gender, age, ethnicity and body type – a message expressed elsewhere for the brand through similar initiatives such as their Tommy Adaptive and TommyXZendaya collaborative collections.

“Our fifth collaboration continues to champion the causes most important to us,” says Tommy Hilfiger. “We found new ways to embody sustainability and our ‘Style for All’ focus while staying true to the TOMMY HILFIGER brand’s classic, American cool DNA. The result is fresh, bold and something we’re really excited to share with fans around the world.”
The Fall 2020 TommyXLewis collection features a range of logo-emblazoned t-shirts, oversized hooded sweatshirts and contrast panel jeans which reference heritage TOMMY HILFIGER archival designs with a fresh and vibrant energy, contrasting the brutalist, utilitarian silhouettes with soft elements like faux suede and recycled down.
