Avengers: Endgame, the final film in Marvel’s Phase 3 at times received flack for the absence of post-credit scenes. But following a rerelease that included a deleted scene and tribute to the late Stan Lee, the film was revived and keeping the Marvel-led project in the headlines, another deleted scene has been revealed – and its pretty emotional.

Ahead of the digital and Blu-ray pre-order release, Marvel took to USA Today Life to unveil the scene to fans. Warning, spoilers below.

It was set to appear following the death of Tony Stark after he wielded the Infinity Stones to defeat Thanos. After he passed, Pepper Potts made a heart wrenching goodbye followed by the Avengers squad taking the knee out of respect. According to Joe and Anthony Russo:

“It’s a beautiful scene with moving performances, but we filmed it prior to Tony Stark’s funeral. The funeral scene ultimately became a more resonant and emotional reflection on Tony’s death for us.”

The internet is ultimately split over the decision however the final film was emotional nonetheless. As for Gamora’s reaction to Iron Man’s death, it has sparked a Twitter feed of memes.
