Just under a year ago, Netflix announced its plans to recruit some of the best faces in the hip-hop industry for a new comedy coined The After Party. Now, this recently-dropped trailer proved they’re good to their word.
The film follows the story of Owen (rapper KYLE) as he goes to all lengths in an attempt to sign a record deal. But his dreams come with a ticking clock: Owen needs to find work before college starts in the Fall. Despite the somewhat cheesy storyline, The After Party is elevated with appearances from Wiz Khalifa, Pusha T, DJ Khaled, Ski Mask the Slump God, Teyana Taylor, French Montana, Jadakiss, Tee Grizzley, Young M.A. and other high-profile rappers.
