Everything

If you have ever wanted to get lost in the archives, fashion and objet d’art of Louis Vuitton, you’re in luck for the Maison’s touring exhibition See LV is coming here to Sydney.
Starting on November 4 and wrapping up December 11 at First Fleet Park in the Rocks, Sydney will be the fifth destination in the tour which first started back in 2020 in Wuhan. Since then, it has seen the sights of Dubai, Hangzhou and Tokyo before finally reaching our sparkling harbour.

Part exhibition, part museum, completely immersive – the See LV experience is a deep dive into the 160-year history of the brand. The exhibit is built around the exploration of five seperate universes that inform the history of the brand and the way that this links to current designs today.
Starting with Finding Louis – an introduction to the Maison’s founder and namesake – you can then discover the facets of the Louis Vuitton creative output: In Fashion, Bags Stories, Evolution Gallery and lastly Around Monogram. The latter dedicated to the provenance of the infamous logo that has become a potent motif used across everything from sneakers to homewares.

For lovers of fashion, this room might be perhaps the most insightful. A journey of the brand’s aesthetic direction under successive creative directors – Marc Jacobs, Kim Jones, Nicolas Ghesquière and of course the late Virgil Abloh – is a chance to see how the codes of LV were interpreted by each of their unique visions. Also, how these are carried forward into current collections.
But of course, the DNA of the brand is in its luggage – more recently, handbag designs that have become cultural touch points. Who doesn’t remember where they were when the Neverfull was introduced back in 2007. In the Bags Stories room, you can see the chronological order of Louis Vuitton icons including some of the most famous collaborations that appeared on the bag’s surface.

See LV will take place in First Fleet Park from November 4 until December 11. Entry is free. Book your visit here.
