In November 2018, 8 by YOOX became the first-ever label to release a dedicated collection powered by AI technology. Ushering in an extensive collection of luxury essentials, the offering was wildly successful and one year on, the global e-tailer is renewing demand for its ‘smart’ collection with Spring/Summer 2020. Based on external data collected from the most relevant image-led fashion sources – and internal – generated over 19 years at the forefront of multi-brand fashion e-commerce, the forthcoming styles will integrate additional sales and data into its algorithm off the back of the initial launch.

Shaped by data and tailored on you, the incoming collection for both men and women is set to comprise of easy-to-wear essentials designed to adapt to the individual wearer’s body contours, thanks to the unstructured silhouettes. The colour palette embraces darker neutral tones, which lighten throughout the season, mixed with bold chromatic highlights. Exclusive geometric prints characterise the collections, whilst floral patterns spread from micro to macro. Soft and lightweight fabrics such as suede, jersey, and silk are predominant in the collection and have been chosen for their comfort and versatility. Meaning wearers can mix-and-match across the entire line. To accompany the pieces, a range of leather accessories are also on offer. Silk is produced in China; leather and accessories coming from Italy; and espadrilles are produced in Spain.

With considered curation comes a greater awareness of sustainability and conscious buying. In line with YOOX NET-A-PORTER’s commitment to lead sustainability developments in the industry, 8 by YOOX SS20 will include twice as many sustainable pieces. This has been possible through greater collaboration with suppliers, audited throughout the whole production chain, and responds to customers’ requests for more responsible and sustainable fashion.
