Situated in America’s Baccarat Hotel New York, the restaurant is selling a $1,500 USD ice cream. Adding to the list of overly expensive food (see 24 karat chicken wings), CNBC has reported on the new dessert.

According to the report, the dish is made with vanilla ice cream from vanilla bean imported from Madagascar. The rest of the sundae is constructed with a white chocolate shell painted with dyed cocoa butter, black truffle crumble, Manjari dark chocolate, and Valrhona Gold cocoa nibs. Drizzled on top is hibiscus champagne sauce with citrus meringue. To finish off the dessert, butterflies are created with fondant, topped with gold strands of sugar, along with gold and silver leafing.

So technically, the dish itself only costs $300 (bargain?). If you’re willing to spend an extra $1,200, it will be served in a Baccarat “Zoo Bear” crystal bowl, which will be yours to keep. The sundae was debuted last week, coined “Bear Extraordinaire,” and according to the chef who created it, it’s the most expensive ice cream dish you can get in the U.S, currently.

Now the only question remains – this months rent, or ice cream?
