There’s nothing subtle about a rally car hurtling through a dirt track or the unmistakable streak of Martini Racing stripes slicing through the blur of a Grand Prix. And Breitling’s latest chronographs are designed with exactly that kind of audacity in mind. The Swiss watchmaker has released a trio of timepieces that aren’t just a subtle nod to motorsport heritage, they burn rubber all over it.
Introducing the new limited-edition Top Time B01 Racing and Top Time B01 Martini Racing chronographs, a full-throttle homage to the high-octane 1960s era of automotive competition. With only 750 pieces of each model available globally, they’re engineered for collectors and thrill-seekers.
Breitling’s Top Time collection has always celebrated the freedom of the open road. Originally launched in the 1960s, the line was built for a generation hungry for speed, spontaneity, and style. Both the Top Time Racing and Martini Racing editions fuse classic design codes with modern muscle, housing the in-house Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, a COSC-certified movement with a 70-hour power reserve and column-wheel chronograph function.
Each model is cased in a sleek 38mm cushion silhouette, a nod to vintage proportions but with an contemporary edge. The dial layout resurrects Breitling’s distinctive “dashboard” motif, flanked by “squircle” subdials, which are neither round nor square, but a hybrid reminiscent of retro speedometers.
Two of the new chronographs are built for rally lovers, capturing the visceral pulse of dirt trails, gravel spins, and high-stakes endurance. Available in black-and-white with a beige leather strap or green-and-white with a perforated racing-green strap, these editions channel the aesthetic of vintage driving gloves and roll cages. The fixed tachymeter scale and Super-LumiNova® hands and markers mean they perform as well in the shadows as they do in the spotlight.
On the reverse? A clear-cut “One of 750” engraving, confirming your piece of the action.
Then there’s the Top Time Martini Racing, the star of the pit lane. In its first-ever collaboration with the motorsport legends of Martini Racing, Breitling has created a tribute to one of the most iconic liveries in automotive history. The dial features stripes of blue, light blue, and red.
Paired with a perforated dark blue leather strap and bearing the engraved “Martini Racing” stamp on the caseback, this piece is truly about the nostalgia. If you’re drawn to the dust and drama of the rally stage or the precision and prestige of the racetrack, Breitling’s new Top Time editions are unapologetically crafted for the road less ordinary.
