From surf to snow, overnight the house of Dior unveiled its first ever Ski Capsule – a new collection of ready-to-wear, skis, snowboards and accessories designed by Kim Jones – via an exclusive pop-up in Sydney’s George Street. Performance skiwear and après styles are presented in navy blue, lemon yellow and subdued purple while the collection offers everything you need to hit the slopes come snow season.

If current street and sportswear culture is anything to go by however, you can slap a logo on a t-shirt and it will most likely sell out. The power of Kim Jones would have you believe that in this very same instance, however make no mistake, the hotly-anticipated capsule was built to shred the gnar for seasons, and seasons, and seasons to come.

Created in partnership with premium ski manufacturers and apparel brands, Descente, AK SKI and POC, Dior combines its iconic house codes with high-performance technology and cutting-edge expertise. The result sees a number of silhouettes filled with environmentally responsible Nylon and filled with ethically-sourced feathers while being both waterproof, ultra-light and insulating.

When it comes to the important details savvy skiers and snowboarders swear by, temperature regulation is ensured by an invisible and adjustable ventilation system in the back and arms. A specific ‘tapping’ process evacuates the water, guaranteeing a strong impermeability. Benefitting from the same qualities, a version with removable sleeves completes the collection, along with a windbreaker. Lastly, the pants offer a streamlined cut ensuring flexibility and comfort, ideally adapted to the practice of skiing and snowboarding.

The apparel offering is accompanied by a pair of skis and a snowboard from Swiss artisans AK SKI. Available in two sizes, they are crafted from a unique wood and carbon alloy and feature high shock absorption capacity.  And finishing off the collection helmets and goggles designed by POC, a Swedish company dedicated to sports and protective equipment, are made available. Gloves, a scarf and headbands designed by Dior round out the pieces.

Whether you’re shredding the gnar or navigating the city streets, the newly-released Dior Ski Capsule will protect you from whatever harsh environment you’re subjected to. Visit Dior to learn more.
