“The Multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little.” Those were the chilling words spoken by Doctor Stephen Strange in the recent Spider-Man: No Way Home film, after his frivolous use of magic unleashes the very real nature of the Multiverse.

While footage of the first Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness first emerged in a post-credits scene of No Way Home, it’s with excitement that we now have our first look at the next big Marvel reveal which looks to delve deeper into the madness of the Multiverse – and officially cement the welcoming of Marvel’s Phase 4.

What we can take away from the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness teaser is Strange going through several different encounters (or perhaps realities), in a world that looks to take off right after the events of both the Loki TV series and No Way Home.

In an attempt to tackle (and tame) the Multiverse obstacles unleashed, we see Strange visit Wanda Maximoff, who may be able to assist in his quest to close the Multiverse forever. We see the return of his former mentor, Karl Mordo (for good or evil, we’re unsure). And the teaming-up of Strange, Wanda and America Chavez who look to be going head-to-head with what seems to be Gargantos – a massive sea monster-thingy.

But the most exciting reveal thus far would be the appearance of Strange Supreme – an evil Doctor Strange from a different universe, though how that plays out and his significance in this film remains to be seen.

Fans of the MCU have already been treated to some cracking spectacles to mark the start of Phase 4, including the likes of Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

With Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to be released in 2022, followed by all of the amazing Disney Plus TV series that have – or will be – released, Marvel fans can look to the future with excitement as the MCU looks to top the success – and significance – of the Avengers franchise.
