After its release in November 2017, Justice League was considered a flop. After original director, Zack Snyder, stood down from his position following a family tragedy, Joss Whedon was brought in to finish the project. Ultimately it showed and many critics and fans believed the film had an inconsistent tone. Comic fans have pushed for the original film, dubbed the ‘Snyder Cut’ to be released ever since and now we have a closer look at the long-awaited edit.

On Thursday, Zack Snyder debuted a first look at the rumoured film which will finally see the light on HBO Max, in 2021. The footage is just 34 seconds long and spotlights Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman as she studies an ancient relic. Before the video cuts, villainous Darkseid, Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor narrates, “The bell’s already been rung, and they’ve heard it. Out in the dark among the stars. Ding dong. The god is dead.”

The unreleased cut is believed to be far darker than what was revealed to the world. Justice League teams up Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman, Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Superman (Henry Cavill), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and the Flash (Ezra Miller).
