In case you weren’t aware, Harry Styles loves Gucci. The long-time collaborator of Gucci House drapes himself head to toe for world tours and red carpet premieres, and even leisurely strolls around the block. Styles wears Gucci, or perhaps Gucci wears Styles.

And while the former boy band sensation-turned-pop/style/acting/everything sensation wins over his legion of fans for his prowess as a solo musician, it’s his eye for style – and charming sartorial tropes both on-stage and off – that garners global attention and affection.

So much so that the 28-year-old has officially partnered with long-time friend Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s Creative Director, on a sartorial collection so chic you’ll be scrambling to get your hands on it.

‘HA HA HA’ is the name of the Styles-led collaboration, with the ‘HA’ acting as an acronym for the first letter from Styles and Michele’s first names. It’s also the imitative sound of the written essence of an emoji, the ‘laughing face’, which we suppose you might use when describing this collection that almost seems haphazard in nature.

So how did such a fun collaboration come about, you ask? Well, Michele and Styles are mates, you see. And mates naturally want to work together. The two creatives met years ago, right at the beginning of their careers as soloists, and have shared a creative bond ever since.

“The idea of working together came to me one day while we were talking on the phone,” said Michele via a press statement.

“I proposed creating a “dream wardrobe” with him, starting from those small oddities that come together in childlike visions. We ended up with a mix of aesthetics from 1970s pop and bohemian to the revision of the image of the gentleman in an overturned memory of men’s tailoring.”

The louche 1970s-inspired capsule highlights a taste of vintage flair blended with classic British tailoring. To highlight so, the presentation was held at Cavalli & Nastri, one of the oldest vintage stores in Milan. It was here that Michele/Styles’ collection blended in effortlessly with the old handmade garments of the small Italian sartorie.

Tailored suits in Prince of Wales wool, stylish trench coats in thick checkered tweed, briefcases in leopard print, sheep, frogs and heart-embellished pyjamas, knitwear and suits alike; the ‘HA HA HA’ collection is an amalgamation of countless hours of conversation between the duo, who both have a passion for hyperbole in the form of fashion. The result is a fun collection that’s been Guccified by Michele, yet blended together with Styles’ penchant for sharp, rakish British tailoring. Think long and sharp suiting silhouettes, large and wide lapels, and flared hems.

Honestly, we’re completely sold!

“Harry has an incredible sense of fashion,” Michele added via a statement.

“Observing his ability to combine items of clothing in a way that is out of the ordinary compared to the required standards of taste and common sense and the homogenization of appearance, I came to understand that the styling of a look is a generator of differences and of powers, as are his reactions to the designs I have created for him, which he has always made his own; these reactions restore me with a rush of freedom every time.”

The limited-edition, one-off collection will hit stores in October, with Michele certain it will attract not only Styles fans but also “anyone who has a passion for clothes.”
