In the wake of it’s 2018 theme, we are made to change, IKEA will participate at Milan Design Week focusing on the concept of a home in the making.

From April 16th to 28th, the Swedish brand presents the discovery of the infinite, an installation hosted in the INTERNI House in Motion exhibition in the spaces of the University of Milan.

The project is curated by the architect Lorenzo Damiani and takes the form of a small transportable house with a fir wood structure and a natural finish. The peculiarity resides in the interior, where the spaces are punctuated by surfaces covered with modular IKEA components arranged in a heterogeneous way to create a single composition where each single element fades into the whole.

The entrance and exit are characterised by the presence of luminous elements and Ljusa crank torches illuminate the internal path, while shutters and a catwalk are formed using typical blue corrugated metal sheets, in line with the brand’s image. The internals are furnished as a reminder of contemporary living.
