So far, the next instalment of the Batman franchise has been a controversial one. It was announced that Twilight star Robert Pattinson would front the fan favourite superhero after Ben Affleck announced back in January that he would retire the cape. It is big shoes to fill and expectedly, the internet nearly broke. Now, it has been reported that Jonah Hill is in talks to join as Batman’s next archenemies.

As reported by Varietysources have told the publication Jonah Hill is in talks for a villain role while additionally, Jeffrey Wright is in talks to play Commissioner Gordon. Warner Bros. and Hill and Wright’s reps could not be reached for comment according to the article. Hill is best known for his comedic role in films such as 21 Jumpstreet, The Wolf of Wall Street and Superbad, so to picture the man differently will be interesting.

The film was set for pre-production during the American summer with insiders saying they could start filming as early as late 2019, early 2020. Rumoured to be titled ‘The Batman’, the film will be directed by Matt Reeves, known for his work on the last two sequels of Planet of the Apes.
