Hype is growing for the long awaited release of Justice League: The Snyder Cut. Last month it was confirmed that Jared Leto would reprise his role of the Joker for the film. Now, a new trailer has been dropped.

Available in both a colour and black-and-white version, Zack Snyder has updated the teaser to his new film in a lengthy 2 minutes and 43 seconds. Showing each of the characters and scored by Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’, it is a dramatic look into the forthcoming project which sees Snyder include five minutes of new material as well add new effects and edits to lend a wider story to the original film.

DC Comic fanatics would recall the flop of Justice League in 2017. Snyder was the original director of the film but stood down due to personal reasons, leaving Joss Whedon to complete a half-finished film. Naturally, the execution was inconsistent and a push for a ‘Snyder Cut’ took place. The Synder Cut bids farewell to Whedon’s scenes where the likes of Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill have participated in a multi-million dollar reshoot.

The forthcoming project in turn will be far darker than the original if the trailers are anything to go by and will run for four hours. It will be released in four parts on HBO Max in 2021. While you wait in the meantime, tune into the trailer below.
