After the media erupted over Kanye West’s recent White House visit with Donald Trump, the contentious rapper has made his way to the Africa to reportedly film his next music video. On his trip to round out the last of his work on new album YANDHI, West and wife Kim Kardashian made their way to a Ugandan village to visit and meet the locals.

On his trip, the designer and rapper gifted the children a pair of his Yeezy Boost 350 V2 sneakers, taking to his recently reactivated Twitter to record the moments. Videos show the children dancing in their new sneakers, as well as bags packed with the shoes.

His goodwill was quickly tarnished however after reports surfaced that Ye’ and Kim Kardashian-West made a controversial visit to the Ugandan president, Yoweri Musevini. Known for his dictator-style rule since 1986, Musevini is strongly  criticised for his support in the 2014 Anti-Homosexuality Act Bill and charging the country for using social media.

A known critic of the government, Bobi Wine said the West’s meeting was “immoral”. “He is hobnobbing with a president who has been in power now for 32 years and restricts any freedom, a country where opposition activists are tortured and imprisoned,” Wine told The Guardian.

Kanye West’s recent political decisions have been questionable at best, so stay tuned for any further developments.
