On October 22, it will be ten years since Grammy-winning rap sensation Kendrick Lamar debuted his award-winning, second studio album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. To mark the occasion, Lamar, in conjunction with Amazon Music and Prime Video, will be livestreaming his concert at the Accor Arena in Paris, as part of his The Big Stepper Tour.

Lamar is currently touring the world for his new album Mr. Morale & The Big Stepper, his fifth studio album to date. Coinciding with the milestone, Lamar will also be releasing a 10th-anniversary vinyl edition of his second studio album and major-label debut.

Fans will be able to watch the live stream for free exclusively via Prime Video, the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and via the Amazon Music app. The stream will air live on Saturday October 22 at 4:00am AEST, as well as in more than  240 countries and territories around the world. Lamar has also called upon artists like pgLang’s Tanna Leone and Grammy Award-winning recording artist, Baby Keem, who will also perform sets.

“As a kid from the west side of Compton, hearing good kid, m.A.A.d city for the first time and seeing Kendrick’s journey from neighbourhood hero to global superstar ignited a fire in me that I’m forever grateful for. It showed me that no matter where you start in life, hard work and dedication will put you where you hope and dream to be,” said Tim Hinshaw, head of R&B and hip-hop for Amazon Music.

“Now, 10 years later, it’s almost poetic that two kids from the same city with similar, but different dreams have landed in Paris to celebrate not just that record but Kendrick’s latest revolutionary album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. We’re honoured to sponsor this tour and bring this show to fans around the world.”

Alaina Bartels, head of talent synergy & specials at Amazon Studios added “We are thrilled to be working with Kendrick Lamar, one of the most influential and groundbreaking artists of my generation. We continue to be the home for talent and creating special opportunities for our global customers to experience their awe-inspiring creativity.”

Produced by Live Nation and presented by Rotation – the hip-hop and R&B arm of Amazon Music – Lamar’s extensive international tour has thus far seen him perform North America. He will continue the tour in Europe and the UK before ending in Australia and New Zealand in December.

The universally praised LP, Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City, will go down as one of the greatest rap albums of all time. The triple-Platinum RIAA-certified studio album earned him seven nominations at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, and it really was the album that cemented Lamar’s status as one of the great artists of our generation.
