The world of technology is continuously pushing the boundaries and while foldable phones, minimalistic designs and professional-quality smartphone cameras are now a reality, this next innovation doesn’t really come as a surprise. First teased during this year’s Mobile World Congress, Avenir Telecom’s Energizer-licenced P18K mobile phone is promising the world’s longest lasting smartphone battery. The catch? It is huge.

Set behind a 18,000 mAh battery, the futuristic design boasts a 6.2” Full HD+ display. Running on 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, dual sim card slots, a power bank function that can charge other devices, and five cameras — three rear cameras (12MP + 5MP + 2MP) and two pop-up front-facing cameras (16MP + 2MP), the powerful device can last the distance. Although its overall appearance isn’t as sleek as many would like, with its long-lasting battery the P18K can go on standby mode for 50 days on a single charge. In turn, this translates into two straight days of video playback, 90 hours of calls, or 100 hours of music.

Sitting at a more attractive price too – just $549 USD – it will need to raise $1,200,000 before going into production. For more information on this bizarre design, visit the fund page here.
