Late last year, it was announced that executive producers and long time partners in crime Hollywood, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck would bring forth a new television series. Dubbed ‘City On A Hill’, the 12-part series based on a fictional account of the “Boston Miracle” will hit Stan Australia this June.

Also known as Operation Ceasefire, it was a cooperative arrangement between the criminal justice system and community groups in Boston and surrounding areas in an effort to reduce the tragic and extremely damaging effects of youth violence. Thanks to a change in police tactics at the time and improved services and economic opportunities, there was a sharp decline in violence.

The Stan-exclusive series looks to an African-American District Attorney played by Aldis Hodge who comes in from Brooklyn, joining a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran, played by Kevin Bacon.

“Together they take on a family of armoured car robbers from Charlestown (Jonathan Tucker), (Mark O’Brien) and (James Michael Cummings) in a case that grows to encompass and eventually upend Boston’s citywide criminal justice system.”

Revealing the official trailer today, the series illustrates an insiders look into the unconventional happenings of law enforcement, and the devastating violence that plagued the city of Boston for years – something that still occurs today. The series stars Kevin Bacon, Aldis Hodge, Amanda Clayton, Cathy Moriarty, Kevin Dunn and Jill Hennessy and is slated to drop onto the service from June 17.
