As of yesterday, Microsoft passed Google in market valuation making it the third most valuable company in the world. This is the first time in three years that Microsoft has surpassed the tech giant with a worth of $753 billion.

In current standings, Microsoft is sitting behind Amazon at $782 billion and Apple at $932 billion – Google’s parent company, Alphabet is currently valued at $739 billion.

The recent improvement may be due to the appointment of Satya Nadella as CEO for years ago as well as the company’s cloud business. According to analysts, it currently accounts for 30 percent of the company’s revenue with the expected growth potentially allowing for a market value of $1 trillion. Trailing behind Amazon’s cloud share, Microsoft currently hold a larger percentage of the market than google.
