You may know Bad Boy Records founder by Diddy, Puff Daddy, Puffy or P. Diddy but 49-year-old Sean Combs is looking to add another iteration to the list. This week, the controversial music mogul filed a petition in Los Angeles Count court to change his legal name from Sean John Combs to Sean Love Combs. Yes, you read that correctly, while Combs has an affinity for nicknames, this is official and through all the legal channels.

According to documents obtained by The Blast, the petition states “a desire to change middle name” and is apparently the only motivation for the change. This however has been planned for quite some time – believe it or not.

In 2017, Combs took to Twitter posting,“I decided to change my name again.” “I’m just not who I [was] before, I’m something different. So, my new name is Love, aka, Brother Love. I will not be answering to Diddy, Puffy, Puff Daddy or any of my other monikers but Love or Brother Love.”

Though we have a better name. Perhaps “Sean Loves Combs”, suggested by the team? We’ll let Puffy sit on it.

Meanwhile, ICON caught up with LAPD detective Greg Kading as he unpacked the infamous Biggie and Tupac murder and Sean “Puffy” Combs’s alleged involvement, here.
