American actor, producer and director Robert De Niro, has never been silent on his thoughts toward the US President, and in his latest blast against Donald Trump, he has spoken out in the most public way possible – at the Tony Awards. As he introduced a performance by Bruce Springsteen, De Niro blatantly called out: “Fuck Trump.”

De Niro continued with, “It’s no longer ‘down with Trump.’ It’s ‘fuck Trump!’”. And not only being heard by the guests of the Awards, the live stream was sent out to countries all over the world, including Australia. The delayed feed censored the language, with a CBS spokesperson telling Deadline, “Mr. De Niro’s comments were unscripted and unexpected. The offensive language was deleted from the broadcast.”

The stream to Australia was however, uncensored  and is available for viewing thanks to Twitter.

Since the Tony Awards, Robert De Niro went on to apologise about the president’s behaviour at the recent G7 Summit. “I just wanted to make a note of apology for the idiotic behaviour of my president…it’s a disgrace…it’s disgusting.” This follows Trump’s proposition to impose tariffs on the EU and Canada.
