Following sell-out collaborations from the likes of Supreme and most recently, Keith Haring, Lacoste has been leading the way for an expert fusion of heritage silhouettes and modern street style. Reinventing its classic polo and tennis-inspired threads – the brain child of founder Rene Lacoste – the French sportswear brand is back with another knock-out collaboration.

Amid Men’s Fashion Month and the French Open Grand Slam last month, an unexpected announcement was brewing. Taking to Instagram to tease the new collaboration, Californian-based rapper Tyler, The Creator appeared on the social media platform donned in a series of cobranded threads. From a baby pink cardigan to a matching long-sleeve polo nothing else was mentioned surrounding the fresh partnership – that is, until now.

Rumours ensued and not before long, we’ve received a first look and release date for the forthcoming capsule. Set to drop from July 17, the rapper has unveiled campaign images of the collection and boasts a wide range of basic silhouettes, all infused with the old-school sensibilities of the 28-year-old.

Set on a clay tennis court, the images feature matching tracksuits in a white and blue colourway, basic striped t-shirts, a pale pink and white polo and shorts as well as the aforementioned knitted cardigan. Presented in a ’70s-style treatment, the line also appears to include branded bucket hats.

No other information has been released by Lacoste as of yet so stay tuned for further details. In other Tyler, The Creator news, the rapper has released tour dates for his latest album IGOR and is set to include supports acts from Jaden Smith, Blood Orange, and GoldLink.
