The Joker is perhaps the most famed comic book villain of all time. Count his appearances in paper, cartoons and a number of DC Comic remakes over the years and one thing about the crazed man is always the same – his chilling laugh. Off the back of 2019 film Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix, Warner Bros. Studios has paid tribute to the character for the 80th anniversary in a new documentary.

Free to watch via Youtube, The Joker: Put On A Happy Face, chronicles the character’s development since inception in 1940 in the first ever Batman comic, to a myriad of appearances in countless entertainment mediums.

For celebrity fans and comic enthusiasts alike, the short doco also features interviews from the men who played him including Joaquin Phoenix, Jack Nicholson, the late Heath Ledger, Mark Hamill, and Jared Leto. For further substance and point-of-view, the project also features actors who played alongside the Joker, such as Christian Bale, Stan Lee, Todd Phillips, Andrea Romano, Margot Robbie, Frank Miller, and more.

Last week it was reported that current Joker, Joaquin Phoenix, was being offered $50 million USD to return as the lead for a trilogy. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
