Set in the Spanish city of Benidorm – the country’s most populated city of sky scrapers – neuroscientist and photographer Al Mefer has blurred the lines between earth and the unknown. Entitled “Alien Architecture”, the photographer has curated a series of futuristic style images, all highlighting a range of colours and architecture.

Apart from the obvious design elements, Al Mefer wanted to delve deeper into current issues faced by our society. “I think our current society has a lot of interesting issues to face, such as Artificial Intelligence, climate change, ageing and human overpopulation. The idea behind this was trying to picture what urban spaces will be like once the conditions on Earth become uninhabitable for the human kind and we need to populate other planets. Something that seems to be more feasible with the work of companies like Tesla!”
